What Makes A Successful School Website? https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/what-makes-a-successful-school-website/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/what-makes-a-successful-school-website/#respond Wed, 14 Jul 2021 14:07:42 +0000 http://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=12139 When it comes to your school website, you need to consider what your key objectives are.

So, how does your audience perceive your website? The main focal point for any school’s marketing presence is their website. It’s essential that you are representing your institution to the highest standard possible. It’s not just a school website, this is your brand identity and displays what you, as a school are about. Ultimately, your school website is a hub to keep current students and parents updated and informed as well as drawing in the future students.

Ribblesdale High School Websites

So, what factors do I need to consider?

  • Simple Navigation- Can your target audience find the information they need without difficulty? Do they know who to get in touch with about their queries? You have a very small time slot to keep someone on your website and if it’s hard to navigate, they probably won’t spend more than 30 seconds there and they’ll look elsewhere. It’s the times we live in; we want everything within seconds, therefore you need to be able to deliver with ease.
  • Modern- Your site needs to look slick as you have a very small window to draw someone to browse your website, there’s nothing more off-putting than it being an outdated, garish site. Keep updating and keep it fresh.
  • Responsive- This is essential, your site needs to be ‘mobile friendly’. We live in the mobile age, everyone is on their phones constantly, so it’s highly likely that your audience will be looking for your site on their phone or iPad.
  • Main Focal Point- Every site needs this as you need to have a clear vision as to what you want to achieve. Do you want to share regular updates on activities within the school? Display exam timetables? Or show how your school works? Not to forget the essential demands from Ofsted! It’s important to be ready and prepared.
  • Engaging Content- This is important for keeping people interest in the School website. There are many ways to do this such as through pictures, videos or even gamification. There are many possibilities, however, what needs to be considered is how short the user’s attention span is and how you are going to convince them that your institution is as good as you think it is.

Case Study

Ribblesdale High School appointed Creativeworld to redevelop their online presence, to include their Main School website, Parents website and Transition website for Year 7 students.

In addition, we created a Ribblesdale ‘EdTech’ website to host virtual learning events for other schools.

Our services to the educational sector encompass all forms of marketing, design and print services, and can be viewed on our site at www.creativeworld.co.uk/education

The Importance Of eLearning In Healthcare https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/the-importance-of-elearning-in-healthcare/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/the-importance-of-elearning-in-healthcare/#respond Thu, 20 May 2021 10:33:05 +0000 https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=50635 The rise of eLearning in healthcare

In the past few years there has been a rise in the demand for online resources within the health sector, even more so over the last year! The same can be said for most industries as cutting costs and enhancing performance of employees has become increasingly more desirable. Going online has massively transformed the healthcare industry, especially when it comes to dealing with patients and managing staff. It’s widely recognised that training staff is essential, but a persistent challenge is finding a cost-effective solution to be able to provide that. Luckily, the rise in eLearning has meant that this is now more viable.

The benefits

Face to face training is effective but a costly and time-consuming exercise which can ultimately prove to be impractical given the already stretched resources within care organisations. eLearning is the perfect solution to this problem due to the fact that it’s accessible which means employees can receive their training to fit around their schedule. The other benefits of eLearning are vast; not only is it time efficient, eLearning can be provided in a way which is engaging and makes the learning process much easier for the those taking the courses.

The possibilities

eLearning can be accessed in a variety of formats such as through webinars, interactive video, multiple choice and so much more. The possibilities of this technology are truly endless which is why more and more health organisations both in the public and private sectors are getting involved. At Creativeworld, we have been approached by a number of health organisations looking to build a platform from which they can provide crucial eLearning courses to their staff, subscribers and customers. Our long-standing client All4Maternity had a bespoke online eLearning platform created for them by our team, which offers interactive and multi-media eLearning modules to prepare for practice, examinations, revalidation and important CPD development. We strongly believe that eLearning will become crucial to health organisations and we are excited to share with you even more of our work within this field.

We are also in the process of developing a learning portal for a number of clients, and with our experience and expertise in this sector we can offer practical support, advice and direction to our clients to enable them to deliver a system that will support and develop staff throughout their careers.

Why Whitespace can be your friend – By Adam Wood https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/why-whitespace-can-be-your-friend-by-adam-wood/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/why-whitespace-can-be-your-friend-by-adam-wood/#respond Wed, 29 Aug 2018 15:33:47 +0000 https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=49218 Is Whitespace really that negative?

Whitespace is also known as ‘negative space’. It’s an area of your design that is not – I repeat NOT – filled with content. Furthermore, tt’s also a majorly important design element as it grants your design the breathing room it could need, it will also help your designs that are looking clumsy and overly complicated. My main point is that whitespace can make designs look CLEAN, so please don’t let clients, account handlers, managers ruin your designs with the old saying “Can’t something go there?”

Can you not put something there? – Dinosaurs to every designer ever

What is Whitespace?

Whitespace is the portion of the page left blank; it can be the space between images, graphics, margins and borders. It’s also the space between columns, between lines of text or numbers that provides visual breathing space for the eye.

It’s super-duper important!

Whitespace is an important element of design for good reason, not only for readability but for all those design snobs out there too, who like to focus your attention on the more intricate parts of the design.

Negative Space? – Trust me this is a positive!

Negative space is, quite simply put at best the space that surrounds an object in an image. It is just as important as that focal point of the object itself, negative space can help define the boundaries of positive space (the image/artwork) and brings a healthy balance to the overall piece of artwork.

All in all, don’t be afraid of whitespace. It’s your friend, not your foe.

Cara Group opts for Digital Makeover for their 25th Anniversary https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/cara-group-opts-for-digital-makeover-for-their-25th-birthday/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/cara-group-opts-for-digital-makeover-for-their-25th-birthday/#respond Fri, 06 Jul 2018 09:36:08 +0000 https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=48988 Cara Group a decade on…

Almost a decade after Creativeworld originally designed the website for construction experts, Cara Group, they decided it was time to refresh their online presence. What better time to do so than in juncture with their 25-year anniversary; providing a great opportunity to showcase their achievements as a company and continue building on their successes. After working with Creativeworld previously on numerous projects, Cara appointed the marketing agency to produce their new website.

The Makeover…

A priority in approaching the project was to ensure the website was built to be responsive, to meet the demands of users’ browsing on-the-go on varying mobile devices. It was also vital that the website was built with a content management system that enabled Cara to upload industry-specific case studies and up to date news items. The aim was to create an engaging, simple to navigate website that allows the user to clearly identify the sectors and services they specialise in. Creativeworld worked with Cara to develop the design and structure of the website to ensure the brand was consistent throughout, partnered with a more graphical and interactive navigation.

Cara Group opts for digital makeover

Cara Group Director, Paddy Grady, had this to say of the recent transformation

“It was a pleasure working with the team at Creativeworld in developing our new website. We are very happy with the end result, which better represents our offering and the work we are capable of achieving in partnership with our clients.”

 A look in the mirror…

The Cara website now more accurately reflects who they are; a company that has gained excellent success within the construction industry for over 25 years. Follow the link here to find out more about Cara and the high-profile projects they are involved with nationwide.

Your Website Is A Bit Rubbish https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/your-website-is-a-bit-rubbish/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/your-website-is-a-bit-rubbish/#respond Thu, 10 May 2018 14:56:21 +0000 https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=48454 What’s wrong with my website design?

We’re almost halfway through the year, (I know how crazy is that?!) and it’s come to the time when you’ll be assessing your current marketing plans, and perhaps something isn’t quite right? Your email/social media campaigns and marketing collateral is all reaching the people you want but they’re not quite converting. You’re getting website hits and they’re just leaving without taking much action. It makes you want to internalise and think what could be the problem?

Website Design ad 2

So, what does this mean for me?

There can be plenty issues when it comes to conversions, one of the most obvious ones could be your website is a bit rubbish. A good way to get a bit of perspective is to have a sneaky peek at the competitors, what’re they doing? And be completely none biased about it, as a consumer how does it make you feel? Then go back to your website and do the same thing. Does your site look a bit dated? Is it VERY text heavy? Not very engaging or eye-catching? Well we have the solution…it’s time for a refresh!

Face-lift time

It doesn’t necessarily mean you need to get a completely new website, it might just be a case of giving it a bit of TLC, updating the design and making it a slicker more user-friendly experience for visitors. You want your site to best represent you as a company, and if it isn’t doing that then you’re doing a total disservice to the company. It’s vital that you have a fantastic online presence that really shows off your services and just how good your offering really is. It’s 2018. Consumers are being more visually stimulated than ever, and competition is stiff, and you’re wondering why the site you got done in 2014 isn’t really doing it for you anymore? At the end of the day, it’s either keep up or fall behind.

What’s it going to be?

De La Salle’s School Marketing Strategy https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/de-la-salle-school-marketing-strategy/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/de-la-salle-school-marketing-strategy/#respond Tue, 05 Dec 2017 17:22:24 +0000 https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=12818 De La Salle is a friendly, student focussed school based in St. Helens, on the outskirts of Merseyside. The School approached Creativeworld after viewing our marketing capabilities on our website.

They needed an agency to assist them in enhancing their profile across various communication channels. After an initial situation analysis we recommended a full service marketing strategy for the next 18-24 months. We were commissioned to deliver various pieces of collateral to showcase the true values of the School.

Delivering the Message

The school was keen to re-inforce the fantastic levels of Personal Development, Progressiveness, Welfare and the opportunity for students to flourish at the school. Our delivery for the 2018 intake was to create an Informative, value led Prospectus, with clean imagery throughout reflecting the environment De La Salle School has to offer. To complement this, we partnered the school to create an engaging video that was used on their open days. The video relays several aspects of life at De La Salle and it reflects the opportunities for students both academically and extra curricular.

Ongoing marketing

As we continue our partnership with De La Salle, we are looking to develop their profile with the local community, existing and future students, staff and potential parents. We consider ourselves to be an extended support function to their team, working together to deliver success for the school.

Creativeworld Goes International In Education https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/creativeworld-goes-international-with-education/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/creativeworld-goes-international-with-education/#respond Mon, 27 Nov 2017 14:19:36 +0000 https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=12729 Having had some excellent success within the education sector with recent appointments from Student Castle, De La Salle and Mount Carmel to name just a few, Creativeworld goes international in education with a new appointment all the way over in Libreville, Gabon.

Ecole Ruban Vert is an acclaimed international School, looking to increase their profile throughout the local region as well as appealing to an international audience.Their request was to improve the user experience for visitors to the website. In order to do this, the team needed to improve the design and functionality of their existing site whilst also considering the way in which their audience engages and interacts with the School.

Excellence, Respect and Virtue

A unique consideration in this project was that there needed to be various language versions of the School’s website, which was implemented as part of the build. The site now includes English and French versions, while the Spanish version is currently under development. The design style submitted accurately reflected the style and environment of the School whilst emphasising their key values of Excellence, Respect and Virtue. The home page design includes links to a Virtual Tour of the School, Events, Vacancies, Application Portal, News Features and a simple easy to use navigation menu for visitors to move quickly and easily through the site.

The finished product

The Content Management System we developed was based on the client’s requirements to future-proof the site. An important part of this was to make sure there was plenty of flexibility to integrate with third-party platforms which included a Student Application process, a Vacancy system and an exclusive Virtual Tour of the campus. Our in-house design team incorporated a wide variety of features to improve the user experience which included interactive page turning software, video, blogging zones for students, a Headmaster’s blog and an ever-changing social media wall. In addition to this, the simplicity of a WordPress CMS allows the client to have complete control of the site, coupled with the ability to adapt the design theme in the future should they wish to do so themselves.

Keeping up the dialogue

Our liaison with the School was managed through initial scoping meetings, through to shared online consultations and regular review meetings. We developed a strong partnership and we are pleased to see the successful launch of www.ecolerubanvert.com

NVM website gets a shiny new look https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/nvm-website-gets-a-shiny-new-look/ https://www.creativeworld.co.uk/nvm-website-gets-a-shiny-new-look/#respond Tue, 26 Apr 2016 09:39:34 +0000 http://www.creativeworld.co.uk/?p=10026 NVM

Creativeworld – commissioned to produce legendary manufacturer’s new website.

Established in 1966, backed by a wealth of experience stretching over 50 years, North Valley Metal is one of the country’s leading suppliers of Electrical Door Operators, Components and Electrical Control Systems for the Industrial Door, Garage Door and much more.

NVM wanted to kick the year off with an ‘easy-to-use’ catalogue style website which allowed their extensive client base quick online access to their wide range of products. To complement this, Team Creative has taken NVM into the world of social media. This involves creating, maintaining and managing their social presence including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn pages.

In addition to this, Team Creative New Media Studio Manager, John Brooks, had this to say about the commission:

‘The nvmgroup.co.uk website we produced for NVM is an online catalogue to showcase the vast array of products they have available. First of all we integrated social media feeds into the new website which also included a promotions and featured product section, shop, news and case studies as well as a comprehensive PDF and Technical Datasheet download area. The website incorporates an easy to navigate menu system and advanced search facility to help customers get straight to the products and discover available options easily. We have also developed new email promotions to run alongside the social media campaigns. This allows us to keep new and existing customers aware of the latest products and promotions NVM are running.’

NVM’s Managing Director John Seymour added ‘I’m very happy with the work produced and the open dialogue we have between NVM and Creativeworld and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future across all of our platforms’

Creativeworld was officially commissioned by the UK arm of Scandinavia’s largest lighting supplier, Nordlux, at the start of this year to design, develop and bring to life the company’s digital marketing strategy.

Divine Lighting Website

Divine Lighting e-commerce website

The brief was to develop a digital experience with both the end client and Divine’s trade customers in mind, and provide an experience that would create not only new business opportunities but encourage engagement and dialogue between them and their desired audience.

With this in mind the team proposed the creation of a new multi-platform e-commence website along with a rebranding exercise of Divine Lighting’s full digital offering.

On the recent collaboration, Creativeworld’s Jack Dyson commented, “We were delighted to have had the opportunity to demonstrate our skills and visions with such a forward thinking business as Divine Lighting. It’s been refreshing working with a group of individuals who share not only our love of quality design but also for high end functionality and digital marketing.

It was important to Divine Lighting to not only endorse their Nordlux association but also reinforce their own brand and service offering. The new website design takes this fully into consideration with the incorporation of a new colour palette, font type and bespoke imagery.

Stunning product photography

The Creativeworld team was able to efficiently ascertain our unique digital needs and put forward a proposal which we were more than happy to work towards.

Nick Galea, Sales and Marketing Manager at Divine Lighting added, The Creativeworld team was able to efficiently ascertain our unique digital needs and put forward a proposal which we were more than happy to work towards. Throughout the whole process they have been an absolute pleasure to work with, all the way through from the initial enquiry stage to the end product which you can see today.

Their patience and willingness to listen to our requirements, coupled with their creativity and digital expertise have helped give us the online presence and identity that we desired, resulting in a website that we are proud to call our own.”

Along with the creation of the new website came a complete overhaul of Divine’s email and social media marketing.
